It was stressed that these areas reflect critical humanitarian issues and needs that Rotarians are already addressing worldwide.

He also took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of getting commitments to the Annual Programs Fund or Polio Plus into the Foundation and this is the perfect month to do it if you haven't already.  He told the club that DG Jeremy had an ambition to make sure that 100% of the clubs in our district give something to the Foundation this Rotary year. The exciting news was that he (L. Cansino), was able to raise a whopping $160,000.00 from his Club, The Rotary Club of Nassau East within hours!  This amount was increased to $240,000.00 in only 2 weeks!
