AG Carla D. Card-Stubbs, considers herself a 'Caribbean National', having lived and worked in several countries in the region. Born and raised in Jamaica, AG Carla will tell you that she left Jamaica for what she envisioned, a short stint away from home.

In 1994, she accepted a post in Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands, where she worked as Deputy Registrar, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal and where she acted occasionally as Magistrate. Her plans to return to Jamaica were thwarted two years later, in 1996, when she accepted a contract with the government of the British Virgin Islands. There she worked as Deputy Registrar of the High Court before accepting a position as Crown Counsel in The Attorney General's Chambers where she rose to the rank of Senior Crown Counsel.

During her time in the British Virgin Islands, AG Carla also acted as Marriage Officer, performing marriages in exotic locations. She was also appointed an Additional Magistrate.

In January 2003, AG Carla again changed jurisdictions and accepted the post of tutor at The Eugene Dupuch Law School, The Bahamas, her current position. The Eugene Dupuch Law School is one of 3 regional schools run by the Council of Legal Education which prepares students for admission to the practice of law in the Commonwealth Caribbean.

AG Carla has taught several courses at the Eugene Dupuch Law School and currently teaches skills in Trial Advocacy, the law of Remedies, and the law of Probate Practice. She has expertise in Dispute Resolution and is a trained mediator and arbitrator.

In 2016, she obtained her real estate license and is a licensed real estate sales agent with the real estate firm Darville Wong Realty. In her spare time, AG Carla enjoys traveling, reading, public speaking, hiking, and community service. She is a former Sunday School teacher and attends the Heritage of Redeeming Love Methodist Church, MCCA.

AG Carla started her Rotary journey as a member of the Rotary Club of Road Town in the British Virgin Islands in January 2000. When she moved to Nassau in January 2003, she immediately sought out a Rotary home. She joined the Rotary Club of Nassau Sunrise, serving on the board in various capacities and as Club President in 2009-2010.

AG Carla also served at the Area levels and District levels in various capacities. She is a certified Rotary Leadership Institute Discussion Leader and a District 7020 PETS trainer. In 2020, she assumed the role of Assistant Governor for Bahamas West.

She is married to Mr. Felix Stubbs of The Bahamas, a retired business executive who is also a Rotarian and is a Past District Governor for District 7020. They are both members of the Paul Harris Society, Level Two Major Donors, and Level Four Bequest Society members.

Rotary Clubs of the Bahamas remain in good hands as our Assistant Governors will continue to be a vital link between clubs and district leadership. As Assistant Governors, they will make themselves available to club leadership, offering support, ideas, and guidance throughout the year. They will also assist club officers in finding relevant resources from Rotary International, as well as tips and best practices from other clubs across the District.

Please join us in congratulating Kendal Strachan and Carla Card-Stubbs as Assistant Governors for Rotary Clubs of the Bahamas!
