DEEP CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL EARLYACT CLUB FORMED
Deep Creek Midle School students recently founded the first Early Act club in Eleuthera. Nineteen students have signed up and meet twice a month to plan projects for school, local and global service. The students have ambitious goals and a well packed calendar that includes community clean-ups, environmental workshops, and participating in the One Million Bones Project, an art activism project against genocide. “There are a lot of positive things happening on our island. Taking care of the community is well modeled here and I am excited that our students have embraced this. In fact, they are taking it to the next level. I am so pleased that they have really taken ownership of the ideas of responsible citizenship and leadership as these are priorities at our school,” says Dr. Joanna Paul, Rotarian and club advisor.
PRESIDENT
Keniesha Pinder-I choose a leadership role because I believe that I can make this a successful club. My plan is to include fundraising and donating the money to a company in need such as the Cancer Society which is Part of the Global Service Committee. For Local and School Committee projects, I believe we can be advocates for the prevention of bullying. I plan to provide ideas that will help Earlyact to succeed in teaching respect, leadership, tolerance and more.
VICE PRESIDENT - Shawnea Neeily-My experience with service over the past two years in CO and the Haitian Discrimination Unit has helped me with my leadership qualifications.. I am currently working on a community program by helping to clean up plastic. I should be elected because I am hardworking and very responsible for my actions. I can do whatever I put my mind to and I know that I can lead this committee and make it a success.
TREASURER - Tyrin Culmer-I am running for this position because I am very responsible and I will make sure that all the funds are recorded and kept safe. I also plan on holding bake sales, car washes and other profitable services that will bring in funds for the club. Elect me as Treasure and I promise you would not regret it
SECRETARY - Trevonya Pinder-I nominate myself for this position. My reason being is because I know that I am trustworthy and will support this committee in all the ways possible.
CHAIR OF SCHOOL SERVICES - Keslya Pinder- I should be elected for many reasons. My Reason being is because I will provide many ideas and plans that will benefit the club and, lastly, I will support the committee by assisting in fundraising.
CHAIR OF LOCAL SERVICES - Montez Anderson-I had a lot of experiences where I was asked to help other people and I did. I should be elected because I feel that anyone who’s elected for any chair position can really make a difference to the worlds. I think that we can also grow on certain aspects and help the school out in many things and that is why I should be elected.
CHAIR OF GLOBAL SERVICES - Bronthaye Rolle-I should be elected for the Global service so that I can help people over the world and give out donations to the homeless and less fortunate children. I think I can be a good for this because I am a good leader and I take my work serious and get the job done and on a timely fashion. My previous experience is helping out with the homecoming committee to see if everything is organized.
